Cloning from Service Accounts

Gitfox can create, list, and clone repositories from supported service accounts.

Supported providers are GitHub, GitLab, GitLab Self-Managed, Bitbucket, and Gitea.

Add the account first

Open Gitfox → Settings → Accounts & Credentials and add the account for your provider.

GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket can use OAuth or a token. GitLab Self-Managed and Gitea use tokens and require a server URL.

Clone a repository

After the account is added, open the repository manager and choose the service account. Gitfox uses the account to list repositories and authenticate HTTPS clone operations.

You can also clone by URL with File → Clone Repository... or Quick Actions.

SSH clones

Service accounts do not configure SSH keys. If you clone an SSH URL, Gitfox uses your SSH setup.
